About Me

My Story

I didn't grow up thinking therapy was for me. In the Dominican Republic, it was for "crazy" people — whispered about, feared, avoided. When my mother brought us to the United States, I landed in a loud, overwhelming city where the sounds, smells, and language were all foreign. I'd grown up on an island. Suddenly nothing felt familiar.

I learned early to create my own safety, to look okay, and to fit into rooms that weren't made for me. That skill followed me all the way into corporate and tech — productive, driven, capable, and quietly exhausted. The imposter syndrome. The persistent sense of not belonging.

When COVID slowed the world, I finally heard what I'd been ignoring: I needed more than this.

I went to therapy. Real, deep, honest therapy. It changed everything. I became less rattled by people in power and more grounded in who I actually was. I thought: I want to do this for other people. So I went back to school. And here we are.

How I Show Up

I've been in my own therapy for eight years. My rule: never trust a therapist who doesn't have their own therapist. The best ones have done the work themselves. As much as my clients seek healing through me, I heal through them too. That is why I do this work.
